Gelephu Airport

Gelephu Airport, located in the southern region of Bhutan in Sarpang district, serves as a domestic airport connecting the region with Paro International Airport. Situated at an altitude of approximately 210 meters (689 feet) above sea level, Gelephu Airport plays a crucial role in enhancing regional connectivity and supporting domestic air travel within Bhutan. Operated primarily by Bhutan Airlines, the airport facilitates convenient access for travelers to and from Gelephu, contributing to local economic development through improved tourism, trade, and transportation infrastructure.

The Shivalaya Yagyaswar Mahadev Mandir

The Shivalaya Yagyaswar Mahadev Mandir was constructed in the heart of Gelephu upon Royal Command. It is a replica of the Shivalaya temple in Samtse. The temple was constructed for the Hindu community of the Gelephu as a place of worship. Since the Mandir is conveniently located, the residents of Gelephug Thromde and villagers from places can congregate for religious gatherings. Also, people will no longer have to travel to Bihar in India to offer water to deities which is considered as an integral part of Hindu rituals.
