Sakteng village

Sakteng literally means bamboo field, is an isolated valley of Brokpa people, located north of Merak. It is a wide valley located at around 2800m – 3000m above sea level, surrounded by mountains on all sides holds the pristine beautiful natural environment. People form this place are called brokpas who depend their livelihood on nomadic culture raising sheeps and yaks as their primary source of living. The culture practice here are similar to that of Merak village, Laya and Linzhi.
