The Marangdut Jungle Camp

The Marangdut Jungle Camp is Bhutan’s first true jungle camp located near the sub-tropical forests of Royal Manas National Park. Situated next to the Marangdut tributary of the Drangme river, it comprises eight tented camps with comfortable and spacious individual tents for sleeping, modern bathroom and shower facilities, and a common dining area. All the structures are covered with thatched roof made in the traditional Khengpa style. Villagers from nearby Marangdut village built with the traditional thatched roofing, a craft that has almost disappeared as corrugated iron sheet roofing has replaced thatch lately. The nearby forests and stream provide ample opportunities for a pleasant hike or a cool dip in the water. Traditional delicacies out of local resources such as wild banana flowers, bamboo shoots and edible orchids and ferns will be available there.

Over all it offers a unique and immersive eco-tourism experience amidst the pristine wilderness of the region. Located within lush forests and surrounded by natural beauty, the jungle camp provides visitors with an opportunity to connect with nature and explore the biodiversity of Bhutan’s central region.

The camp is designed to blend harmoniously with its surroundings, providing basic yet comfortable accommodations. Guests can stay in simple cottages or tents equipped with essential amenities, ensuring a rustic and authentic experience close to nature.
